Owner, Lauren Melton Terry, is a native of Cleveland, Georgia. She was involved in competitive gymnastics, dance and cheerleading beginning at age 5. She was a 4-Time Varsity Football and Basketball Cheerleader, a 3-Time NCA All-American Cheerleader, and a 2-Time Varsity Tennis player in high school. Tumbling and physical fitness have played an active role throughout her life. After graduating from White County High School, she took a coaching position with her childhood gymnastics coach and met her future husband, Daniel Terry, while coaching at Lanier Gymnastic Academy in Gainesville, Georgia. After several years, Lauren took a hiatus from coaching competitive gymnastics and found herself in Accounting and Finance where she became the Financial Manager for the White County 21st Century Afterschool Program. During this time, she continued her love of coaching through White County Parks and Recreation Department (formerly White County YMCA) and offering private tumbling lessons at her home. Owning a gym in her hometown has been a lifelong dream for Lauren, and she is so excited that God has opened doors for her to open The Flippin’ Gym!
Owner, Daniel Terry, is a native of Lake City, Florida, who moved to Cleveland in the 1990's. He began his background in coaching at Warriors Gym in Cleveland, and then at Lanier Gymnastic Academy in Gainesville, Georgia. Like his wife, he took a break from coaching and found himself in the commercial floor covering industry. After many years of hard work at perfecting his craft, he reached his goal and founded Terry's Floor Covering, Inc. Gymnastics and Tumbling have been a part of Daniel's life since moving to Georgia in the 90's, as his brother and sister-in-law have run successful gyms in, both, Georgia and Florida!
Lauren and Daniel Terry are passionate about The Flippin' Gym and make it their top priority to offer students a solid foundation, built on hard work, correct technique and safety! They look forward to bringing their skill and knowledge to Cleveland, and are excited about being able to give back to their community and it's youth.
